It was cold outside, but this New Years Eve wedding was worth every moment with frozen hands! Mimi and Ryan spent the morning getting ready together at the Hilton Lac Leamy and the evening getting married at the Courtyard Restaurant in the ByWard Market. It is always fantastic when you get to shoot a groom helping his bride into her wedding dress!

Jessica and Matthew’s spring wedding happened in three places I have never photographed before, which means that I was supper excited to be making photos! Their ceremony was held at the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC), their portraits were taken at the Nepean Sailing Club and Hintonburger, and their reception was at the Yangtze Dining Lounge. What a great combo of locations to work in. I photographed Jessica’s sisters wedding last summer in Sault Saint Marie and I am always happy to keep things in the family.

Dana and Phil’s wedding was one of the most intimate weddings I have ever photographed. It started by packing a dozen or so guests into the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral in the Byward Market, then trudging across town for a typical wedding meal at Beckta Dining and Wine restaurant (typical = amazing at Beckta)! I even got to sample a bottle of 2003 Dom Perignon champaign. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday if you ask me.

I had the pleasure of photographing Nadine and Dave married this weekend at Sidedoor and Restaurant 18 in Ottawa’s Byward Market; two of Ottawa’s finest restaurants and wedding venues. Despite the threat of rain, everyone stayed dry except the photographer who shot the first dance through the front windows of Restaurant 18 during the downpour. Anything for the photo, right?
