Isha and Sam are married! You may remember these two beauties from our kick-ass engagement sessions at The Shore Club and Restaurant 18 earlier this year. I became quick friends with these two but regret that I was only able to get to know them for a short time before they relocated to Alberta. Despite being a regular for lunch, this was my first time shooting at wedding at Sidedoor Restaurant in the Byward Market. Great people and great food make for a great wedding!

Michelinne and Darren contacted me earlier this year to shoot their 2013 wedding, then decided that it would be more fun to elope and asked me what I would do if I could do anything I wanted. I wanted to shoot somewhere with any amazing view of downtown and the Westin Ottawa was the perfect fit. Once again the Westin Ottawa’s wedding specialist Tia Ward came through in a big way, helping Michelinne and Darren get ready together in the beautiful Bonaventure Suite and getting everything set up for their ceremony on it’s 24th floor balcony where wedding chaplain Alan Viau performed a touching ceremony. Tia and myself were the witnesses at their ceremony and we were both honoured to be asked to take part. My wife Heather and I are very happy that Michelinne and Darren have become great friends of ours and we look forward to many inappropriate board game nights in the future.

Clients-turned-friends Jessey and Jeremy were married at the Strathmere Lodge south of Ottawa this past weekend. Jessey is extremely detail oriented and Jeremy is extremely organized – together they planned one hell of a wedding! There will be a whole other post about their details to come! You may remember the couple for their awesome engagement session under that big-ass tree in Experimental Farm.

Yes, Jeremy is playing a little wife-guitar, possibly to Journey. Pretty rad right?

If anyone else had told Katelyn that rain was good luck on a wedding day, I think that person would have been attending the wedding via Skype from a hospital bed. It rained and she cried, but then she smiled and suddenly the rain didn’t matter anymore. “I promise to love you forever” were the words they told each other when they fell in love in high school and these were the same words repeated on their wedding day.

Mary and Conrad were married earlier this month at St. Patrick’s Basilica and partied in the big purple tent at the National Arts Centre. This wedding had so much going on that I barely had time to rest – on top of all of the normal wedding stuff, there were Chinese and Vietnamese tea ceremonies, a roast pig and feats of strength. They had the most stylish guests I have seen in a long time and at any given time there were three dance-battles happening on the dance floor – thanks to the raddest DJ I have ever worked with. Good times!
