Whistle Bear Golf Club Wedding | Laura + Aaron

Whistle Bear Golf Club Wedding

Laura and Aaron were married at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, with the reception that followed held at the Whistle Bear Golf Club in Guelph, Ontario in June 2018. The venue was a perfect match to their modern yet classic themed wedding, with it’s Grandview Room, adjoining patio and garden, and large number of windows letting in light.

Laura and Aaron made sure to include subtle hints to their personalities throughout the wedding, including their mutual love for Disney. ”The title of our seating chart said “Be Our Guest” referencing the movie “Beauty and the Beast”, our cake topper was a silhouette of Princess Aurora and her Prince and included a quote from the movie “Sleeping Beauty”, and of course our favourite dinosaur Rex from the movie “Toy Story” was an honoured guest,” said Laura.

Laura + Aaron | Ottawa engagement portraits

ottawa-wedding-photographer

Laura and Aaron didn’t want a typical set of engagement portraits, which is great, because that is something I try very hard not to do! The best engagement portraits for me are the ones that highlight something about the couple – something that gives relevance about their relationship to the pictures. They play a lot of ultimate frisbee and wanted to take photos that captured some iconic places in downtown Ottawa. Nothing says love like sweating it out while playing catch on the front lawn of Parliament Hill. After their frisbee-scrimmage, we ducked into the Chateau Laurier for a costume change before heading down past the Rideau canal locks to the Ottawa River to take in a beautiful sunset.
