Marise and Max had an amazing winter wedding at the Notre-Dame Basilica and Restaurant 18 in Ottawa’s Byward Market. Shannon Ranger from One Fine Beauty did a wonderful job (as always) with make-up at the bride’s apartment, which added a great feeling of intimacy compared to a hotel suite, then Marise and Max shared their first look at the Chateau Laurier before heading to the Notre-Dame Basilica for their wedding ceremony. Restaurant 18 has always been one of my favourite wedding venues in Ottawa because of the modern, elegant decor and amazing food – best steak in the city! The late-night escape to the back of their limo was a great way to end the night.

Robyn and Rob’s classic fall wedding at Andaz and Restaurant 18 in Ottawa’s Byward Market. Their wedding was highlighted by amazing views, fantastic venues, sparking champaign, oysters on the half shell, and lots of love!

little-italy-weddingLeanna and Danny’s early autumn wedding at Lago on Dow’s Lake was one that I was really happy to be able to photograph. I was almost too swamped to be able to take it on, but I am very glad that I did! Not only are they really great people to know, full of kindness and laughter, but they hosted a very heart felt wedding for their friends and family. There were lots of games during the dinner and reception to keep their guests laughing and at the end of the night, they launched paper boats carrying their wishes for the future into Dow’s Lake. If only I could have also gotten them into some paddle boats… little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding little-italy-wedding

I’ve known David for many years and know that one of the last places he wants to be is in front of the camera. Also a photographer, I know it was difficult for him to turn off that switch that makes you want to have a camera in your hands. Alison, I only really got to know few months before the wedding. After speaking with the two of them together, I knew this would be a wedding that reflected their personalities perfectly. Quiet, understated, admittedly a little awkward, full of love and appreciation. The ceremony and reception were held at the Courtyard Restaurant in Ottawa’s ByWard Market. The paper cranes, sprinkle-crusted cake, and penis balloons? were just a few of the subtle symbols and mementoes that made their wedding authentic to them.

Meaghan and Nic spent the morning helping each other get ready in the Colonel By Suite at the Ottawa Westin and watching Jaws 2 before holding their intimate wedding ceremony against the downtown skyline. They were chauffeured from the Ottawa Westin to the National Arts Centre for portraits, then to Erlings Variety in the Glebe in a classic grey limo driven by a man named Pepe. Their wedding was classic, contemporary, and intimate all at the same time.
