Being a bridesmaid 7 times prior to my own wedding, I had a few opportunities to see some major train wrecks when it came to wedding photographers. Given my experiences, I already had a pretty good idea about what I wanted and definitely didn’t want when it came to my photographer from both a talent and operational standpoint. I always knew I wanted a photojournalist, so like many others, I started my search online. I came across Blair’s name on the Wedding Photojournalist Association’s website. His quirky attitude, comical nature and outstanding abilities were quite apparent through his both his blog and his website. Before I even spoke to him, I knew he had to be mine!

When it came to choosing Blair Gable as our wedding photographer, it was the easiest task to cross off our list! In the months since our wedding, Mike and I have found it a favorite pastime to look over the beautiful and unique wedding photos that Blair took for us. The day itself felt like a whirlwind, and it is a pleasure to be able to look back on its events again and again at a more leisurely pace. Blair was very accommodating and found an artful way to capture the balance we were hoping to achieve by holding our unconventional wedding at the Chateau Laurier, a most conventional place. The excitement of the engagement was followed by a million different thoughts about cakes, guests, flowers-the list was endless. We were trolling the Weddingbells message boards looking for good references on photographers; after a lot of reading and investigating of other photographers that were mentioned, found one reference to a couple who had booked with Blair and whose wedding was coming up.
We were looking for someone who would shoot the wedding in what we understood to be a true ‘photojournalist’ style, with a lot of good candid shots rather than anything too contrived. Unlike some of the other photographers we met with, we found Blair to be very straightforward, unpretentious and were pleased with his responsiveness in terms of post meeting followups. We were also particularly interested in using Blair due to his flexibility in regards to the provision of personal use rights for the digital photos, which was a very important determining factor to us – we can look at our wedding photos from our computers on a regular basis, which increases our enjoyment of the photos tremendously. We were very pleased with how the day went and how the photos turned out. Blair was very easy to work with and was able to accommodate the range of photographs that we were looking to capture.
