Kate and DJ’s wedding at the Thompson Hotel in Toronto was amazing – easily one my favourite weddings to be a part of. Kate is the daughter of a photo editor at the Globe and Mail and I was honoured to be trusted with this wedding. Kate talks sports and gadgets on CTV shows like The Social, and DJ works as a host/reporter for Sportsnet, so they were both pretty comfortable with a camera in their personal space. The girls got ready in the “ballers suite” at the Thompson and the guys got fresh cuts and shaves at The Fitting Room barber shop. Their ceremony was held at a sweet church called Little Trinity church where Kate was surprised by a full gospel choir coming out to sing at the end of the ceremony – rom-com level surprised! Thompson Hotel was a great spot to throw a party – I mean, if it’s good enough for LeBron and Drake… Kate and DJ’s family and friends definitely felt the love at this one.

I’ve known David for many years and know that one of the last places he wants to be is in front of the camera. Also a photographer, I know it was difficult for him to turn off that switch that makes you want to have a camera in your hands. Alison, I only really got to know few months before the wedding. After speaking with the two of them together, I knew this would be a wedding that reflected their personalities perfectly. Quiet, understated, admittedly a little awkward, full of love and appreciation. The ceremony and reception were held at the Courtyard Restaurant in Ottawa’s ByWard Market. The paper cranes, sprinkle-crusted cake, and penis balloons? were just a few of the subtle symbols and mementoes that made their wedding authentic to them.

Kim and Darren shared their first look under an orchard of tree blossoms and were married at the Britannia Yacht Club on the Ottawa River. It was a day full of big laughs and Simpson’s references as they really inserted their quirky and fun loving personalities into their wedding day.

Neala and Mike hosted a fantastic wedding for their family and friends at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto. The iconic Gladstone brought lots of its own character to the party and the wedding was full of details that were important to the couple. Neala even surprised Mike by having the lead singer of Wooden Sky, his favourite band, perform their first dance song. It was a really wonderful, charming and stylish wedding.
