I have been looking forward to photographing Marjan and Dan’s wedding at Bean Town Ranch for over a year now. The weather was perfect, the mosquitos were few (for the most part), and they assembled a great team of vendors who all helped create an amazing day for them. Keith from Exceptional Ceremonies, April and Courtney from Beauty by April, PM Event Services, and the staff at Bean Town Ranch all did their part to make their wedding very kick-ass.

There were also more stars visible then I had ever seen before.

Thanks to Heather and Craig, I can finally say that I have shot a wedding at Stonefields Heritage Farm in Carleton Place! Ever since the proprietors Stephanie and Steve opened the farm for weddings a few years ago, I have desperately wanted to shoot there. It is a great farm setting that is not overrun with hokum – finally! There are no rusty wagon wheels, hay bales, tree swings; just simple, elegant, contemporary-country elements. Heather and Craig surrounded themselves with all of the people who helped shape their lives and that love really comes through in the photos. Stonefields know how to make their clients feel loved and I can’t wait to shoot there again.

April and Mackenzie are the kind of people that, if you hadn’t met the before, you wish you had known for a long time. They invited me to photograph their beach wedding in Sault Saint Marie, on the North Channel between Lakes Huron and Superior, and I was more than happy to do so. It was my first time in the Soo and I hope it is not too long before my next visit. April is the kind that seems genuinely excited to see every person she meets and has a smile that is wildly contagious. Mackenzie is the kind of guy that will invite a relative stranger to break into his garage and borrow his clubs for an evening of mediocre golf. Together they have a group of family and friends that would be most people would be lucky to have, but it is those family and friends are the lucky ones.

I was first introduced to Kristen by a mutual friend at the Speaker of the House of Commons barbeque at Kingsmere Estate in Chelsea, Quebec. Once she filled me in on some of the details, like her fiancé Cory wearing his dress reds and the wedding happening at a greenhouse in Newmarket, I was immediately interested. The day was amazing!

I had a great time photographing Dina and Elan’s wedding at Orchard View Wedding and Conference Centre in Manotick, south of Ottawa, last weekend. The pair got ready and had their first-look at Country View Manor, a bed and breakfast right beside the venue. Thankfully the weather cooperated when we needed it to and it got people moving a little faster when the rain finally fell. This was my first time shooting a wedding at Orchard View and I would be happy to work their again soon.
