Chantal and Simon held their wedding the day after the year’s largest thunderstorm, in the middle of a yea wave, ripped through the Ottawa region. Everyone was very thankful that Mother Nature got it all out of her system a day early. The couple’s intimate wedding at Strathmere, a country Inn south of Ottawa, had a definite vintage theme. Chantal wore a 1950’s inspired wedding dress and bird cage veil and Simon rocked the bow tie and suspenders. Once the music started, a Michael Jackson imitator emerged along with a choreographed group-dance to Bust-A-Move by Young MC. The weather was perfect, the food was great, and Chantal and Simon definitely have this love-thing figured out.

Check out more of my work at Third Floor York!

Rachael and Paul were married in late September and planned an amazing wedding, including a humanist minister and a live band, for the family and friends at the Cove Inn in Westport. Ontario resort weddings are something that I would love to shoot more of. There is a level of intimacy and comfort that comes from these lakeside celebrations. Everything about this wedding was very intimate, especially the gifts they gave to each other – custom cat-nose cufflinks for him and a jar of 101 reasons why Paul loved Rachael for her. It was definitely worth the hike up to the Spy Rock lookout in the Foley Conservation Area. A long weekend visit to Westport is definitely happening next year!

Cheers, Blair

I don’t know what it is with Sault Ste. Marie, but I’ve shot shot some beautiful weddings there. Carly and Daniel invited me to the Soo to photograph their amazing wedding at the waterfront Delta hotel and Crimson Ridge golf course. I arrived a day early to find a large white tent filled with an army of volunteers fluffing 500 peach coloured tissue-paper poofs which were ever-present throughout day. The day was full of laughter, tears, and beautiful moments. I will shoot another norther-Ontario wedding anytime!

Ryan, a Canadian married a lovely American named Krystal at Saunders Farm this weekend. There was a hallowed out tree, giant inflatable pillows, a tree house, and an outdoor dance floor. Here is what it looked like!

Congratulations Krystal and Ryan!

Lindsay and Steve’s wedding was “quick draw” style and they pulled it all together in just a few months – with the help of some great friends and vendors. She wore a beautiful Ver Wang White dress and he wore a custom tuxedo from Indocheno. They arrived together in a blue 1964 Jaguar E-type convertible. This was my first time shooting at wedding at the Canadian Golf Course and I hope it is not my last.
